Magpie Lark Photos

Grallina cyanoleuca

There are a lot of "pied" birds in Australia...black and white birds. Butcherbirds, Currawong, Magpies, Magpie Lark, etc...at first it was a little tough keeping them all straight. It doesn't help that some of the species have different patterns of black and white depending upon whether it's a male or female (including these guys). Magpie Larks quickly became easy to identify however, particularly as they were quite common throughout much of our trip.
