Violet-green Swallow Photos

Photography by Terry Sohl

My Favorite: OK, Violet-green Swallows. Are you doing this on purpose? Can you pick ONE perch that's not a very industrial looking, man-made thing? Evidently not, given that the only photos I have of the species are when they're perched on a wire fence, a roof, or a rusty pipe. My favorite is the one below from near Pringle, South Dakota in June of 2020, and while the perch may not be ideal, it was a very cooperative bird that give me good close photo opportunities.
