House Sparrow Photos

My Favorite:  If not for their reputation as foreign interloper, House Sparrows ARE handsome birds. Given that sometimes they're the only bird around, particularly in winter, I guess I don't have as strong a negative view towards them as many people do.  My favorite photo of the species is from Newton Hills State Park, on September 30th, 2008.  What I do find a bit interesting about the other photos below...House Sparrows have a reputation as a species found in and around farms, urban areas, etc. Yet of the 9 photos below, 8 are from State Parks in South Dakota.
