Black Oystercatcher Photo

This photo of a Black Oystercatcher coming in for a landing was taken on December 18th, 2008 on northwest coast of San Francisco.  There were a number of small rocky islands just off the coast, and for the most part, these guys stayed on those islands.  This one just happened to come in and land on the closest island, just 20 yards offshore, and was soon joined by his partner.   Photo taken with Canon 50D, 400 5.6L.
