Nesting Black Oystercatcher Photo

This photo of a nesting Black Oystercatcher was taken on June 8th, 2009 at Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach, Oregon.   Evidently the pair normally nested on the far side of Haystack Rock, away from the beach, but this year, they were nesting very close to the beach.  At low tide, the tide pools that people explored near the rock were very close to the nest, but it didn't seem to disturb the pair too much.  Photo taken with Canon 50D, 400 5.6L.
