Long-eared Owl Photos

What a magic month of November/December 2007. I was taking a walk with my son in the Big Sioux Recreation Area when a Long-eared Owl flushed...then another...then another. Over the course of a month, over 18 Long-eared Owls hung out in one small part of the park, offering unprecedented looks (and photo opportunities) before disappearing by the new year. The time I had with the owls that month was one of the most magical birding experiences I've ever had.
