My favorite summer yard visitor! Ruby-throated Hummingbirds show up in my yard every year, between May 5th and May 7th, like clockwork. Always a male first. By late August, males start disappearing, and the last female or immature bird departs in late September. They're not here for very long, but I SO love having them around. This is from our yard in Brandon, South Dakota this spring..
