Red-winged Parrot Photos

Aprosmictus erythropterus

Just pure luck to get some decent photos of this species! Family vacations aren't about birding, so I try to wedge in birding in moments that have the least impact on the family. However, when driving from an AirBnB we stayed at in Port Douglas, to the Rainforest Canopy Treehouses in Tarzali, we were driving north of Atherton when I saw three unfamiliar birds fly across the road. Parrots! And clearly a species I hadn't seen yet! They landed in a tree in a suburban neighborhood, and with the wife and son dozing in the car at the time, I made a short, unscheduled pit stop to grab a few photos!
