Australasian Swamphen Photos

Porphyrio melanotus

One thing I found interesting in Australia was seeing birds that seemed "out of habitat". For example, Australasian Swamphens look like the equivalent in the US that would always be found around wetlands. They were found in wet areas in Australia too, but sometimes I'd find them wandering in upland grasslands and other areas that seemed rather far from water.
