Ross's Goose Photos

Photography by Terry Sohl

My Favorite: It's tough getting close to waterfowl here, with all the hunting pressure. Doesn't help either when a species like Ross's Goose are typically just here in small numbers, during a short part of the year in migration. My favorite photo of the species is from mid November, 2020 in Yankton, South Dakota.  A lone Ross's Goose, at close range, in early morning light.
