Swamp Sparrow Photos

My Favorite: Swamp Sparrows definitely fall into that category of birds that are "often heard, less often seen". There rolling song of a Swamp Sparrow is a pretty common sound in the wetlands around eastern South Dakota, but they can often be difficult to see (and photograph). My favorite photo is the one below, with a bird in the open, sitting on an old cattail...perfect habitat for these guys. From June 7th, 2020 in Minnehaha County, South Dakota.
