Northern Hawk Owl Photo

This was taken in Sax-Zim Bog northwest of Duluth, Minnesota on December 13th, 2004.  This was taken along Highway 52.  Whenever I found one on a low perch like this, I could take photos with no problem.  Unfortunately, it was much more common that they were on the top of a 50 foot tree!  Taken with Canon 300D, 400 5.6L lens.
