Belted Kingfisher Photo

This photo of a female Kingfisher was taken on April 12th, 2005 in Minnehaha County.  I've never been able to get close to these guys, but this particular individual let me sit and watch from a close distance as he dove time and time again for minnows.  Taken with Canon 20D, 400 5.6L lens.
