What is it about gun “enthusiasts”? How does one ever reach a point in life, where your primary ambition becomes making sure you can carry a gun wherever you want, whenever you want? Why would you NEED to carry a gun wherever you want, whenever you wants? Are people SO paranoid, SO insecure about their own pathetic lives, that carrying a gun around somehow gives them comfort? Makes them feel important? Makes them feel like a bigger person than they really are? Are their lives SO pathetic that THIS becomes their most important issue in life?
Sioux Falls is considered changing an executive order that bans firearms from city property. City lawyers are concerned they’re opening themselves up for a lawsuit by having such an executive order.
Leading the charge to get the executive order changed is Adam Turner, president of the Sioux Falls chapter of “South Dakota Open Carry”. This jackass says that “gun-free” zones make people less safe. Yes, Mr. Turner, arming EVERYONE, having a BUNCH of trigger-happy gun freaks like yourself running around will DEFINITELY make the world a safer place. Given that the majority of the human race appears to be either 1) dumber than a cardboard box, and/or 2) hateful and uncaring about their fellow man, pardon me if I don’t feel “safer” knowing gun freaks with IQ’s lower than my pet cocker spaniel are all running around carrying, even when I’m in such “dangerous” locations such as city parks. Thank GOD we have nutjobs like Turner around to ensure that I’ll have a host of wackos around with guns, while I’m on city property watching my son play soccer, or enjoying a walk through the park.
Congrats Adam Turner. You and the ENTIRE “South Dakota Open Carry” group are well-deserved winners of the Scum of the Week award.
“…having a BUNCH of trigger-happy gun freaks like yourself running around will DEFINITELY make the world a safer place.”
I know, defies all logic.
Second point, I wonder what Trayvon Martin’s family would say about that?
I thank you Terry, for your opinion which you have a Right to have, and for Exercising your Right of Free Speech, which is given to you in the free speech clause of the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution. Now if we can just get you to hold all your Constitutional Right so dear to your heart. I can tell by your post that it would be very difficult to hold any type of Lodgical or meaningful Conversation with you. So I will simply again thank you and ask you to PLEASE, do your own home work before forming your opinions instead of relying on the views of Main Stream Media and Politicians that just want your Vote.
Adam J. Turner
President
South Dakota Open Carry (SDOC)
Sioux Falls Chapter.
I’m sure I could carry on a “lodgical” (sigh) conversation, but given your post, I’m sure YOU couldn’t.
Are you SO incredibly insecure that carrying a gun around “openly” makes you feel like more of a man? Frankly…that’s the EXACT impression I get of most folks who think the “right” to open carry is a major issue in life.
Also terry I forgot to mention I am the vp of sdoc. If you did a little research you would find that there have been many cases where law abiding citizens have saved many lives. One of which was a south Dakota native who was attending a church service in Colorado springs, co. A gunman came in as service was letting out and opened fire. He carried around a thousand rounds of ammunition. he was bent on killing as many people as possible. Ironically he only took 3 lives that day because she put a stop to the madness. Heaven forbid your family would have been in that church that day. I wonder if you would have called her scum too. There are many other incidents just like this one where someone has protected themselves and or others. Do your research. Also an FBI study in 2006 titled violent encounters concluded that violent felons would in almost all cases avoid an armed person if they had knowledge that person was armed. This is why we open carry. It is a strong visual deterant. Thus less chance of ever needing to use it.
Bullshit. You are SO full of bullshit.
You can mention one or two specific cases where a gun-toting citizen “saved lives”. I can mention THOUSANDS of cases where gun-toting citizens are the problem.
Pardon me for not being STUPID enough to believe that having MORE guns being toted around would make the world a safer place. Any “lodgical” (Brilliant Mr. Turner’s word) person could just look at the actual FACTS, and note crime and murder rates in the U.S., vs. in other western nations where gun-toting wackos aren’t a dime a dozen, and where gun control laws are in effect.
“Strong visual deterrant” my ass. You’re complete nutjobs if you think everybody carrying guns around openly improves safety.
Terry,
I may or may not agree with your position on firearms ownership and how/why/where firearms are carried. But it sounds like an awful lot of projection going on about how unsafe it would be if “everyone” were to carry firearms all over the place. Oh, the blood that would flow in the streets from drive-by shootings over not using turn signals! Oh, the hordes of innocent children and grandmothers cut down in the crossfire from shootouts over parking spaces!
I’m just wondering what it is that keeps all the folks who already own and carry firearms from doing all that stuff right now?
Why not concentrate on the behavior of the person, instead of focusing on deamonizing some inanimate tool? Hammers kill more people than firearms do, but for some reason you do not see hammers as the evil impliments the statistics bear them out to be. Why?
stay safe.
Hammers kill more people than firearms? Obviously not true, but now I’ll be sure to be more careful next time I’m hammering in a nail.
What keeps them from “doing all that stuff right now”? Nothing…which is why the U.S. has the highest violent crime rate of any industrialized nation.
Terry, it’s not the law-abiding, “gun-toting” citizens who use guns in violent crimes. Self-defense is not a crime.
It’s the criminals who use guns in crimes: crime ~ criminal…
Colorado has approximately 255,839 law-abiding citizens who routinely carry firearms as they go about their daily business. Of those, precisely three committed a crime in the last 12 months, a per-capita rate far below that of the general populace.
C’mon, Dave. So you just conveniently lump ALL people who DIDN’T commit a crime in one group? Then put everybody else in another group? And use that to support your argument?
It’s like looking at cancer by only examining cancer survivors, claiming that cancer is HARMLESS, because all of the cancer survivors, survived it!! But you ignore the people who die from it!
The mere presence of people with guns makes the world a much more dangerous place. Check out my upcoming post on the simple facts regarding gun ownership, carrying a gun, and safety.
