Mute Swan

I can't say as I have much interest in taking photos of tame or nearly-tame waterfowl that seem to be at practically any city park, but how can you pass up a pristine looking Mute Swan in early morning light?   I only took a few photos of this guy before moving on that morning, with little thought that one of those photos would turn out to be one of my all-time favorites.   Even with birds, sometimes it's composition that makes the shot.

Photo taken on May 9th, 2004 at Arrowhead Park, on the outskirts of Sioux Falls.
