OK, yes, these guys are about as common as dirt in South Dakota in summer. If I take gravel roads to work in the morning (which I often do), you kick up these guys from the sides of the road about every 100 yards it seems. But, I also really like having them around. They have such a soft, subtle beauty, and there's no sound I enjoy more than the mournful cry of a Mourning Dove. Love having these guys around my house in the summer, and am glad I was able to capture this photo in a nice setting and nice background.
